Astronomy
The universe, the planets and stars, and the basics of space science.
Einstein Curiosity is a six-week science and innovation program for children aged 11 to 16. It begins on 5 December 2026, with lessons online and practical sessions at Thinklab in Wakiso. We are taking 100 children.
A selection team reviews every application, so applying does not guarantee a place.
Applications close on 25 November 2026
Run by Thinklab Foundation Africa in partnership with Prepare Education and Paradise International Christian School.
At school, children spend much of their time learning facts for exams. They get far fewer chances to test an idea of their own and find out what happens.
Einstein Curiosity gives them that chance. Over six weeks, your child will ask questions, carry out investigations and build simple prototypes. The sessions are led by scientists and professionals from the creative industries, whom we have chosen for this program.
The program covers seven areas. Children learn the ideas online, then come to the lab to try them out under supervision.
The universe, the planets and stars, and the basics of space science.
How gears, levers and simple mechanisms make machines move, and the engineering ideas behind them.
How machinery and new technology are changing the way our food is produced.
A first look at artificial intelligence: what data is and how computers learn from it.
Circuits, components and the basics of electricity, through activities that our staff supervise closely.
How the human body works, why physical activity matters, and the science of staying healthy.
How to spot a problem, come up with ideas, build a simple prototype and test whether it works.
Scientists and professionals from the creative industries, selected by Thinklab Foundation Africa and Prepare Education for this program.
Throughout the six weeks, we show children how what they are learning connects to real work. These are the fields we cover.
Most lessons happen online through Google Classroom. Children also come to Thinklab in Wakiso for practical sessions, and we provide meals on those days.
Lessons, reading and short tasks are posted on Google Classroom. Your child will need a phone, tablet or computer with internet access.
